In the role as Manager ESG Reporting you will add great value to NEM Energy, because you will lead NEM-Energy ESG initiatives and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. By showing visible leadership and inspiration to our team, you provide guidance on our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and ethical practices. By demonstrating and overseeing the development, implementation and reporting across the organization, you will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting on key ESG metrics and regulatory obligations (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, WPM-regeling, CSDDD, etc.) across all corporate divisions.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team and lead our efforts in integrating environmental, social, and governance considerations into our business strategy and operations.

You will report directly to the CFO and collaborate with our Executive Team.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive ESG strategy, including appropriate frameworks, aligned with the organization's goals and values, emphasizing areas most relevant to stakeholders and the industry.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and collaboration to achieve ESG objectives.
  • Coordinate efforts to comply with new regulatory reporting requirements including but not limited to the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
  • Monitor global developments, industry trends and best practices related to ESG and evaluate impact to NEM
  • Design and implement ESG policies, processes, and controls across the organization
  • Manage the implementation (and change management process) of new ESG reporting software including customization for NEM, if needed
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage the collection and analysis of (CSRD) data in ESG reporting software that is needed for group and company specific reporting
  • Lead the preparation and publication of the company's sustainability reports, ESG disclosures, and responses to sustainability rating agencies
  • Identify and propose internal controls over processes surrounding ESG data collection and reporting, and assist in creating and maintaining NEM’s ESG control framework, including evaluating risks
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal (e.g., the Executive Team)/external stakeholders to keep them informed on ESG objectives and initiatives
  • Develop and deliver necessary training to staff, as needed, to ensure processes operate as expected
  • Collaborate with Internal and External Audit to ensure ESG disclosures and associated documentation are assurance-ready


Candidate requirements

You are a good fit to our team if you have:

  • A relevant completed higher degree or university
  • Professional certification in accounting (CPA or equivalent) is highly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience or in a similar role
  • Strong self-starter skills
  • Expertise on ESG subject matter, combined with a good working knowledge of applicable legislation such as CSRD
  • Excellent leadership qualities, as well as communication and stakeholder engagement skills to effectively communicate ESG initiatives
  • Report ESG performance to investors and other stakeholders, and engage with internal and external stakeholders on ESG issues.
  • Used to work with ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting guidelines such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and others.
  • Analytical skills to collect, analyze, and interpret ESG data, identify trends, and assess the impact of ESG factors on business performance and risk management.
  • Experience with coordinating and drafting sustainability reports against a voluntary or compulsory ESG standard (e.g., NFRD, GRI)
