Job description

As Legal Counsel Contract Manager you will play a key role in overall legal support for the Company. With your commercial mindset and legal expertise, you support the business by reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing complex, high-risk, fixed-price contracts in an international environment. You provide legal and commercial advice, to minimize risks exposure for the company and ensure successful project delivery.

 

You will work closely with Senior Management to mitigate company risks. Together with internal stakeholders you ensure contractual risks are identified in early stages and managed during the lifetime of a contract. You communicate with third parties regarding a wide range of contractual aspects. You have a strong understanding of Contracting, Bank Guarantees, Incoterms, Export Control and Trade Compliance. You report functionally to the Head of Legal located in Germany and hierarchically to the CEO.

Job requirements

Key Skills & Responsibilities

•            8–10 years of experience in capital intensive engineered projects.

•            Ensure contractual terms support business objectives while protecting the company’s commercial and legal position.

•            Support the complete contract lifecycle, including contract preparation, negotiation, execution, amendments, and close-out.

•            Manage variations and claims, including the identification, assessment, preparation, and negotiation of incoming and outgoing claims.

•            Support the preparation, issuance, administration, and release of bonds and guarantees.

•            Support project teams in proactively managing contractual risks and opportunities.

•            Identify and assess contractual and commercial risks arising from customer contracts.

•            Provide internal training on legal matters to stakeholders.

 

 

 

 

Candidate requirements

•            Legal master’s degree.

•            Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance legal protection and business objectives.

•            Willing to travel internationally.

•            Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with a solution-oriented, and business-focused mindset.

•            Able to analyze contractual risks and translate legal requirements into practical business solutions.

•            Collaborative team player.

•            It is a pre if you speak German.

•            Willing and able to operate on operational and management level.
