Job description

As a (Senior) Project Buyer, you are responsible for purchasing of direct equipment like control valves, flow devices, shut-off valves, steam silencers, instrumentation etcetera’s. The procurement department covers the entire supply chain and is responsible for all subcontracting of fabrication, procurement and expediting of materials and equipment and all logistics operations for our projects worldwide.

 

In this role you are commercially responsible for achieving procurement results in various ways while staying within budget and meeting deadlines. You handle the requests, negotiate with external suppliers (e.g. delivery times), handling claims and performs the commercial review, in order to decide on where to purchase the equipment.

 

You will work closely with Engineering, Strategic procurement, Quality control and Project Management. As a member of the Procurement team you will report to the Manager Operational Procurement & Supply Management.

Job requirements

•             Send out requests for quotations, evaluation of offers, negotiations and closing of contracts within the set targets;

•             Signals bottlenecks in the project execution and anticipates them;

•             Negotiate claim settlements;

•             Communicates with the department management and all parties that are interested in the realization of the project;

•             Work closely together with the coordinator who is responsible for the purchase order in execution;

•             Monitoring of supplier performance and initiating improvement actions;

•             Perform standard administrative activities and provide information/data produced from these activities to the parties concerned;

 

Candidate requirements

•          Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a Technical/Mechanical background, or related fields

•          Preferable hold a NEVI 1 certification

•          Relevant experience in technical markets and project organizations, e.g. oil and Gass

•          Knowledge of legal and financial aspects regarding purchasing contracts

•          Able to perform independently and effectively under time pressure by acting swiftly, maintaining oversight and structure, and setting the right priorities.

•          Commercial mind-set with excellent communication skills
