Cost Engineer

As a Cost Engineer you contribute to the success of the projects by achieving optimal project costs to ensure NEM’s competitive advantage in the world-wide marketplace. You will be part of the Sales & Bid Management team and ensure that they have all the tools and knowledge needed to carry out their work successfully.

We are not looking for the typical Cost Engineer that you might expect, because this role also requires programming skills to boost our tool landscape and analyzing skills to create a deeper insight in our costs. You will report to the Head of Bid Management.

On average the work package consists of 50% programming, 25% data management and 25% cost calculations of sales projects.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

•          Develop and maintain the Excel based estimating tool landscape (models and templates)

•          Monitoring and managing databases and make sure it is up to date

•          Responsible for Cost estimating for Sales projects

Candidate requirements

•          Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, or related fields

•          3+ years’ experience of working as cost engineer or cost estimator in a sales and/or project management environment

•          Experience with cost engineering, data analytics and/or databases

•          Programming experience in Excel by means of VBA

•          Analytical skills and able to communicate with different stakeholders

• Working in a multi-cultural, international, project environment
