Project Controller

As Project Controller, you are part of the Project Execution department, responsible for the proper and efficient implementation and handling of all financial aspects during the entire execution lifecycle of our HRSG projects.

The Project Execution department covers the entire project execution in cooperation with other departments like Engineering and Supply and is responsible for the successful completion of a project from engineering up to PAC (provisional acceptance of the plant). The projects are in the field of power generation, are world-wide, complex and multi-disciplinary, including engineering, supply, logistics and support for construction and commissioning. The construction works as such are typically not part of the NEM Energy scope of supply.

As Project Controller you will collaborate with the Project Manager and the other project team members and stakeholders to ensure a successful project execution and to realize the financial targets. In this role you report to the Head of Controlling.

Key Skills & Responsibilities

·      Manage and monitor the progress and correct execution of large projects to ensure that the financial results are managed according to the set goals

·      Analyse project finances based on contractual developments and risk situation throughout the project life cycle

·      Secure positive cash position, initiate invoicing according to project progress / contractual terms

·      Ensure the accuracy of project books and records, incl. recording of such in appropriate systems, e.g. SAP

·      Perform monthly closings related to your project(s) including forecasting and reporting

·      Support the Project Manager in identifying, evaluating, assessing risks & opportunities and initiating mitigation activities

·      Contribute to the optimization of processes and systems

·      Participate in negotiations with the customer regarding contract changes

·      Manage Customer requirements within the project

·      Work closely with different internal stakeholders

·      Secure compliance with standards, rules and regulations

Candidate requirements

·      Bachelor degree in Financial education

·      At least 3+ years of relevant experience, or in a similar role such as Project Controller

·      A true team player with a “hands-on” mentality

·      Keen to work within a project team with different specialists

·      Open and clear communication with strong customer orientation

·      Experience with working with SAP (with key-user ambition)

·      MS Office, especially Excel expertise

·      Analytical skills

·      Diligent in documentation and accurate in work preparation

·      Fluent level in English and local language
