Job description
As a Quality Control Engineer, you will have a crucial role from the sales phase to the operational phase in the NEM projects. Your role starts before the production begins by supporting sales and runs till the final CE marking or ASME stamping of the boiler. You are responsible for specifying manufacturing requirements for pressure parts, steel structures, and equipment engineered by NEM and produced by third parties. You are planning and performing inspections at external suppliers to ensure compliance with order specifications, regulations, instructions, and procedures, so that NEM can guarantee and certify the quality of the final product.
In this role, we are looking for an engineer that is not only hands-on by doing the work, but also that is interested in how things are designed and put together.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams, especially Sales and Engineering.

Job requirements
Key Skills & Responsibilities
• Planning (pre-), inspection activities and meetings based on customer requirements to align and ensure implementation of the requirements into the manufacturing process.
• Inspecting and approving products according to specifications and legal regulations at supplier sites.
• Maintaining contact with inspection bodies and clients regarding inspection and code requirements.
• Translating and implementing quality aspects of both the contract and design codes into technical specifications and reviewing the procedures of the subcontractors to meet those.
• Review client specifications to assess fabrication impact and potential cost implications; draft project specifications to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements
• Review suppliers’ documentation, specifically handle technical queries, suppliers’ deviation requests and non-conformities
• Planning and performing inspections to ensure NEM's quality aspects are incorporated into subcontractors manufacturing process (such as WPS’s, ITP’s , and NDT procedures), and verify final technical documentation.
• Verifying the techniques used and ensuring compliance with approved manufacturing and inspection procedures during inspections.
• Conducting final technical checks on manufacturing books compiled by the supplier.
Candidate requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a good abstraction level and familiar with construction codes (e.g. ASME, AWS and EN 12952)
• Strong affinity for practical engineering and thermal mechanical engineering
• An IKT or EWT specialization is a pre
• Capable of translating complex material into clear, practical guidelines
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to act as a reliable peer in a project team
• Ability to work independently and make decisions
• Minimum B2-level in English
• Open to Travel
